Why stay here ...
Set on the shores of Lake Segeberg this site is a useful stopover en route to Scandinavia or after a visit to Hamburg.
It's quiet and peaceful in the low season but provides entertainment in the summer.
The touring pitches are at the entrance to the site and are in an open and grassy area, some with shade from the trees and with the washing facilities closeby. The rest of the site is used by residents who come from the cities to enjoy this natural landscape and the adjacent lakes.
On site there is a small heated pool and wellness area. There is a new restaurant and bar which serves local food and beverages.
The Unesco listed world heritage site the Hanseatic city of Lûbeck is only 40 mins drive from the campsite and is well worth a day trip. It boasts magnificent 15th and 16th Century residences and Gothic architecture including its red brick city gate that defended the old town. It's a busy vibrant town full of restaurants and cafes and a lovely day out.
The port city of Kiel on the Baltic sea coast is an hour's drive away and has become famous as a major maritime centre with a Maritime Museum displaying model ships and nautical instruments and the annual Kiel Week which is the biggest sailing event in the world.
