Set on the island of Noirmoutier, linked to the mainland by the Gois causeway, this site has been designed with the local environment in mind, which is owned by the forestry commission. It’s ideal for those looking for simplicity and tranquillity, with pitches situated among pine trees and on sand dunes overlooking the Baie de Bourgneuf.
There’s direct access to the beach from the site, and plenty of foot and bike trails to explore on the island. The little town of Noirmoutier-en-l’Ile is 2km away and a shuttle runs there from the campsite during high season, where you can get provisions or discover the castle and ruined monastery. Other nearby attractions include the salt marshes, an aquarium and a water park.

This campsite is set in a pine forest right by the sea.It has pitched tents available so it’s busier at weekends.The facilities are very good,with washing machines and dryers.Reception staff are excellent though there is no shop as such you can order bread etc.Cycling is the thing around here with... We had a great time in Noirmoutier, we only stayed 5 nights but launched our boats and kayaks from the on site slipway. A bit dusty and pine needles off the trees everywhere, but all in all a great spot.
