Why stay here ...

This tranquil site is set in the grounds of a striking 19th century château close to the beautiful Grande Brière Natural Park. It’s secluded and rural, with pitches on a mixture of open grass, shallow terraces and wooded ground. The site’s landscaping is designed to blend harmoniously with the natural surroundings, and a large, well-stocked lake is available for fishing or kayaking.

The nature park and Guérande peninsula offer lots of walking and cycling trails to enjoy, and the closest beach is around 20 minutes’ drive. Nantes is a major attraction in the area, with its historic monuments, excellent shopping arcade and art museums.

La Baule is easily accessible for a day trip and is one of France’s best loved seaside resorts, with a wonderful 9km sandy beach, one of the longest in Europe.

Lovely setting but appalling facilities

We stayed in September and our experience was much the same as previous reviewers. No proper booking-in system and told to go anywhere, but the lake-side pitches would be too muddy. This site appears to have had no investment for many years and we were horrified at the... Show more

How disappointing

There is no doubt this site is beautiful and in a lovely area and our dog had a wonderful time with lots of good walks, but we thought it should be classed more like a CL as you need to be fairly self sufficient to enjoy your stay. Very disappointed... Show more

Difficult to be Positive

Stayed in June 2024. Many contrasting reviews both on here and trip advisor - and I can see why. The location and setting is lovely. No doubt about that. What lets it down is how it’s run. No information given to us upon check in - just given a map,... Show more

Charming site past its best but great ambience and location

It is unfair, as a previous reviewer has done, to simply give the site one star on the basis of an overnight stop on the way to the ferry. The site is very well located, it is set on tiered pitches around a small lake, and is very peaceful. The... Show more

Avoid!

There is no way this is a 4* site as advertised in the sites abroad brochure. It was tired and run down, to the point of neglect. The majority of pitches were so sloping and bumpy that you would not be able to get a van onto them. We arrived... Show more

A good 3* site

This is a 3 * site so does not have 5 * facilities. Our pitch was lake side with electricity and water. Surprisingly, not a mosquito in sight. Instead we watched the kingfishers, coypu, ducks and numerous fish whilst sitting on the pitch enjoying the peace and tranquillity. There... Show more

Peaceful

If you want somewhere peaceful and calm, I would recommend this site. We stayed two weeks, which was maybe a bit long, as the beaches were 25mins drive away and towns were further. Most people seemed to be staying for a week or less, perhaps en route to ferries?... Show more

Disappointing

We stayed here in June for a week. The pitch wasn't brilliant not really what you call grass but like a field and it was overgrown but it was large. When we arrived the welcome wasn't great but adequate like your pitch is here off you go.... we... Show more

Lovely and peaceful

We were here at the and of August, and the site looked a little worn out. However, the facilities were immaculate. The bar was still open and we had a drink in there a couple of evenings. And I would also like to thank the gentleman from reception who helped... Show more
