Le Truc Vert enjoys an exceptional geographical situation on the Cap Ferret peninsula nestled between the Atlantic coast with its big waves and surf beaches and the gentle Bay of Arcachon. In the high season the beach has a lifeguard on duty as the waves and currents can be strong.
Set in 10 hectares of pine forest and only 300 metres from a fine white sandy beach, this campsite provides a green natural environment and is just perfect for the beach lover and somewhere to re energise and relax. The pitches are under the pine trees, perfect in the hot summer sun. Onsite there are children’s playgrounds and evening entertainment with a bar and restaurant and small shop on site.
The nearby “Réserve naturelle nationale des prés salés d'Arès et de Lège-Cap-ferret” is a vast expanse of salt meadows in a wetlands reserve and is popular for nature walks, picnics and bird watching.
A day trip away from Bordeaux with its world famous vineyards and the city centre with shops and majestic buildings that can all be seen on the tourist train ride.
Alternatively take the ferry boat shuttle over to Arcachon and enjoy this lovely small town as well as visiting the famous ‘ Dune de Pyla’ with its magnificent views out over the ocean.
Local Activities include surfing, horse riding, a 20 kms walking circuit and there are also plenty of cycle paths for the enthusiastic cyclist, all the way to the Cap Ferret lighthouse. Climb the 258 step up to the top and you can spot the Dune de Pyla, the oyster farms, the charming seaside villages and the little islands off shore.
