Why stay here ...
This small, immaculate site is set at Beynac-et-Cazenac, on the banks of the river Dordogne and at the foot of a Medieval castle. The Dordogne valley has been declared a UNESCO world Biosphere reserve with its waterways and stunning limestone cliffs.
The site has large grassy pitches, some with a view of the river and the canoeists paddling by and most of the castle perched high on its rock.
There is a lovely restaurant and bar with seating in the garden for those balmy summer evenings. The restaurant serves sweet and savoury platters of local gastronomy. The whole atmosphere is calm and peaceful with a real feeling of back to nature with mature trees, shrubs and flowers.
You can stroll down to the restaurants and shops in the village and from there take the traditional barge trip along the valley to see the Châteaux and the hanging gardens.
If you are feeling energetic, you can hire a canoe and drift off down the river and there are also hot air balloon rides for the more adventurous.
