Why stay here ...
This site is a popular stopover point for members travelling to or from Caen, with a late arrivals procedure to accommodate ferry arrivals and departures. There is a supermarket and petrol station nearby the site.
Nearby attractions include the Pegasus Bridge, which is within cycling distance. It's also well-situated for the port of Ouistreham and the D-Day landing beaches, including Sword Beach. A visit to Caen is worthwhile; it has a rich history and attractions that range from William the Conqueror’s castle to the Mémorial Museum with its exhibitions about World War II and the Cold War.
We visited the site in October 2023 and all the major building work has now been completed including the new pool area. A few migrants can be seen around the area but the site has not had any security issues with them. The site is secure with fencing; a gate, coded barriers on the inside and a night security guard in July and August. The sanitation blocks have been revamped and more staff employed to ensure good cleanliness. The manager on site is enthusiastic and welcoming and we will continue to promote this site as a very convenient stopover for the ferry.
Members can enter the site up to 23:00 and leave from 06:30 - there will be instructions for late night arrivals on the booking confirmation.
