Why stay here ...

This attractive, spacious site is a popular stopover point for members thanks to its proximity to Calais and friendly staff. Set in the grounds of a 19th century mansion, the site offers immaculate facilities which include a covered pool and tennis courts. It’s very quiet in low season but much livelier in high season.

The reception staff take guests to their pitches, which are spacious and level. They’re set around the farm and mill buildings, which house amenities such as the "La Ferme Gourmande" on-site restaurant, specialising in regional cuisine, bar and shop. Reception is open for long hours to accommodate guests arriving from and departing to the ports.

There are lots of walking and cycling trails along the craggy cliffs of the Opal Coast, and the port town of Boulogne-sur-Mer, with its extensive history, is a 35-minute drive. Here, you can explore the castle and cathedral, or have a leisurely lunch in one of the cafés on the Rue de Lille.

One of the best with one reservation

La Bien Assise
We have used this site for over 30 yrs. for overnight and short breaks and have always had an excellent pitch, no matter which part of the site we were in. As a site there is very little to criticise. The only negative thing was the takeaway, which in previous years has always been excellent. This year the menu was very limited and very English, even down to the chips, not French fries. It was also very expensive for what you got.

Pitches great cleanliness not so.

La Bien Assise
Stayed for 3 nights at the end of August. The site was starting to get quieter. The pitches are nice and big in lovely parkland. Just a short walk into Guines from the site. Our biggest complaint about the site was the cleanliness of the toilet block. We were near the toilet block furthest away from reception and it was rarely cleaned. There was a sheet for the cleaners to sign to say it had been done ( which they signed regularly but seldom cleaned them) the soap dispensers never worked and had no soap in during our whole stay. Toilet roll frequently ran out. On our 2nd day we complained at reception but was abruptly told they'd been cleaned. On a 2 star site you may expect some failures here and there but not on a supposedly 5 star site. The bar was expensive for drinks so didn't use it. Only reason we would use it again is it's got large lovely pitches and it's close to the tunnel.

One of the best.

La Bien Assise
Still one of the best sites in France. Clean, spacious, helpful, great location, good restaurant, nice pool - what more could you want? Fantastic location for stopover going to/coming from Europe or a great holiday site for anyone who is less adventurous. A1.

Great site for a stopover

La Bien Assise
We stayed here for the first night of our trip in early June. We wanted to stay fairly close to Calais, which turned out to be just as well as our ferry was running two hours late. The toilets/shower block were clean and the snack bar and restaurant were open. We received a friendly welcome from the staff, who all spoke English. We stocked up at the nearby supermarket in Guines before heading south the following morning. All in all a great site for a stopover either before or after the crossing.

Great site

La Bien Assise
Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of June. Great site with large pitches and well spaced out. Facilities very good with restaurant worthy of a special recommendation. Staff were very helpful. Visited this site years ago and it has not lost any of its charm. Very welcoming of dogs. very close to Tunnel crossing.
