Why stay here ...
A former municipal site located in the suburbs of Châlons-en-Champagne, ideally located as an en route stop with good access to the major routes.
The Champagne capital of Reims is within easy access, with its magnificent Gothic cathedral and the town of Chalons-en-Champagne is well worth a visit. There is a convenient bus service that runs very close to the site entrance.
There is an attractive lake on site so despite its urban setting, the site retains a pleasant rural character. A number of amenities are free of charge to guests, notably tennis and mini golf plus there`s also a small snack bar. The site is good for short stays and although it has limited facilities and still retains a municipal feel, it is well maintained by friendly staff and has good large pitches.
There are 2 washblocks on site. The first of these is adjacent to reception, close to most touring pitches and is of a good standard, clean and well maintained. The second block, at the far end of the site, however is much older, and although clean, it is inferior to the main block. We understand that there are plans to replace this block in the near future.
Note: At the time of the champagne harvest (late August / early September), the campsite is used by a significant number of grape pickers, who have travelled to the region from all parts of Europe. Inevitably, the site is much busier at this time, with more pressure on the wash blocks and other facilities.
