Why stay here ...
This natural site of 5 hectares, perched on the banks of the river Loire, directly opposite the unusual majestic red brick Château of Gien, is a perfect spot to spend a few lazy days.
The new owners are enthusiastic and friendly and they are happy to help in any way they can, so that their visitors enjoy the campsite and the local area.
You can walk into the town of Gien directly from the campsite, meandering over the 18th century stone bridge spanning the majestic river, which dominates life in the Unesco recognised Loire Valley.
There is fishing, canoeing, cycling trails and dog walking along the riverbanks or you can just sit back and read a book and watch the world go by.
The pitches are not delimited on this site but there is plenty of space for every one and the terraced set out means that most pitches have a great view of the river and the castle.
On site, there is a mini golf and a small outdoor Zodiac pool and paddling pool with a sunbathing terrasse and a direct view of the chateau. Just next door, a popular restaurant “Port Gallier” serves Italian and French dishes and has a fabulous terrasse overlooking the river and only 20 metres from the site, you can find a small shop selling regional specialties, honey, cakes, cheese, wine and a fresh bread service in high season.
