Why stay here ...

Situated between Carnac and Vannes, this large, modern site is great for an active stay for all ages. The focal point is an impressive pool complex with a lazy river, slides and a superb new kids' aqua park. On the edge of the site is a quiet lake for fishing and there’s also an indoor riding school.

The pitches are grassy and separated by mature hedges which provide privacy, while tall trees offer some shade. They vary in size and most are level, with some in the centre of the site sloping gently.

Access to the Gulf of Morbihan is excellent, and you can take boat trips out to the islands or try water sports at the nearby beaches. The walled town of Vannes is very pretty with its half-timbered houses and marina. In late May the Semain du Golf boating event is held and in early August a jazz festival takes place.

Very Disappointing

Mané Guernehué
The last review is some years ago, perhaps things have changed. We booked and paid for a pitch with private sanitary facilities, with fresh water hook-up and drainage, as clearly advertised on the site’s website. Our pitch was 228, accessible with some difficulty because of the closeness of the hedges around sharp corners on a narrow access road. We stayed in June 2024. Upon arrival, we were not escorted to our pitch and had to unhitch and return to reception as there was no fresh or used water connection on our pitch. The staff did not appear to know what a ‘fully serviced’ pitch was. Eventually an engineer came along and fixed up a temporary grey water connection into the private sanitary facility. Nothing could be done about the fresh water. The staff suggested towing our 7.5m caravan down to the motorhome service point everyday to fill our on-board water tank. Our awning would have had to be dismantled each day to do this. Staff obviously hadn’t a clue. They initially suggested we could empty our grey water tank the same way. I don’t know of a trailer caravan that has such a tank. We didn’t bring a waste tank or aquaroll with us as we believed the misleading description of our facilities having proper hook-ups. Electricity was fine. With an unusable connecting hose, I was left struggling with a 40kg container we had to buy, carrying it from tap to caravan each day a distance of some 30m to fill our tank. Although we rented a sanitary facility, it is still necessary to use one’s on-board facilities at night, when it was cold, or raining. The pitch itself was dreadful. Size was OK. about 100sqm, but the surface was like a rock-hard ploughed field, dangerously uneven with a bad trip hazard. My wife injured her ankle, and I nearly tripped over several times, not good in the presence of barbecues. When it rained, water ran down onto our pitch, flooding it, because the roadside drainage system was defective. We were also unable to use our sanitary facility for several days because it was very cold and wet and the electric heater inside it failed to work. We later found out that there was a concealed master switch that no-one told us about. Otherwise, the shop was satisfactory, the restaurant was good and their staff were helpful. We did not use the pool, we came for the proximity to the coast and places around. We also hoped for a quiet site, but the motorhome opposite ran its TV very loud with their door open and one of the occupants decided that everyone should be able to appreciate his dire singing with a guitar outside too. In summary, we hated this place, but stayed for our 8 days, because we wanted to rest, we liked countryside around and found some nice restaurants. Otherwise, not recommended for a mature couple seeking comfort and peace; never again.

Great Site

Mané Guernehué
We dont normally use big sites but having stayed at a Yellooh Villages site elsewhere we hoped it would be of a similar standard. It is. We were impressed with the way the site was run with plenty of staff on reception to escort you to your pitch. We had a fully serviced pitch which was near reception and the bar restuarant complex. The restaurant is very good and popular so book early. The take away is also good. The shop has the essentials and overall we were very happy to stay here. Some toilet blocks have no seats but if you move onto the next one it will have some. I have seen other comments about nothing to do in the area but I disagree. The site is near the coast and there are loads of pretty seaside villages and harbours in the area. Slightly further afield is Carnac, Quiberon and La Trinite Sur Mer as well as the town of Vannes which is worth a visit. We liked it here with our caravan and plan to return next year for a longer stay. One tip, if approaching from Vannes direction do not turn into Baden by Carrefore as you will end up in the village. Its doable even with an 8ft wide caravan but better to continue to the next roundabout and turn left which will take you through a residential area to the site.

3 weeks in Morbihan

Mané Guernehué
Easy drive to the site from Cherbourg. Got to the site and reception was very slick. Ready for us, booked in got our wristband and then followed a person on a golf cart to the pitch. We have a large caravan and the site was tight to negotiate but no problems if you are careful. The pitch we were booked on to was too small for us. Our caravan would have gone from the back to the front of the pitch and, by the time we had put up our ¾ awning and dome there would have been no room for the car. We said the pitch was too small for us. That was disappointing as I had mailed the site weeks before and said we had a large caravan and was assured we could have a large, sunny pitch nearish to the facilities. This pitch was small, dark and just about as far away as you could get from the facilities!! We were not allowed to select a pitch on booking – even for an additional payment. The chap who came to talk to us was, by chance, the person I had been e mailing. He asked us to wait a few minutes and he went away to see what he could do. He came back us and took us to see two other pitch choices. We had to stay on the small pitch but then moved to what was pretty much the best pitch on the site. It was large (had to be 250 or 300 sq m) and was next to the field the circus played on fortnightly. They were not noisy and there were only 8 pitches in our road. Great. Swimming pool was one of the very best we had been on, slides, indoor and two levels of outdoor pool, lazy river. Can’t fault it. The restaurant and take away were well appointed and had reasonable prices. Ice creams were cheaper than in seaside towns. Unsurprisingly as we were in France the staff spoke French well and English only a little better than my French!! Not an issue on the welcome meeting but for the teen club, which was a key reason for us choosing this site as we have a single teen with us, it was. The teen club catered well for the French teens but our charge didn’t feel happy to ‘break in’. I think some English teens attended but I don’t know how they got on. Cycled quite a bit but there are few ‘off road’ cycle tracks. Some roads have hatched edges which offers some protection. There is limited stock/variety in the site shop but there is a Carrefour in Baden (5 mins). About 50% of our time was wet or cloudy but the pitch drained well. I didn’t think there was a lot to see in the area – others may disagree. The beaches we found (apart from Carnac) weren’t great. Went to Quiberon (about 25 miles) enjoyed it and Quiberon itself was nice. One way in and one way out though. Vannes is worth a visit and so is Auray. Didn’t get to Ile aux Moines which would have been 60 Euro for the 3 of us. We probably wouldn’t go back but not because of the site. There wasn’t enough in the area for us to keep us amused for the time we were there. Other people looking for different things or prepared to drive further will have a different view.

Mane Guernehue - June 2019

Mané Guernehué
Site was very easy to find using the Club Directions. Very pleasant welcome and efficiently checked in. We were allocated Pitch 207, good size, near shower blocks etc. The shower block nearest us was a bit older, however was clean. The swimming pool complex was great and the indoor pool is a good size for the couple of days when the weather wasn't so kind. Good walking direct from the site, and lots to see and do within easy reach. Ate once in the restaurant, reasonable prices and helpful staff, service a little dis-jointed at times, however I think it might have been because it was early in the season and a number of staff were training. Overall site had a very pleasant vibe, however I think in July / August it could be creaking at the seams and very busy.

Fantastic site

Mané Guernehué
Stayed here for the 1st stop of our 1st ever French touring holiday and we were not disappointed, The facilities are brilliant, lovely and clean. Lots to do for the children and the pool was fantastic. We ate in the poolside restaurant and we were impressed the food was great 5 Euro for a pint of Kronenbourg if anyone interested in the prices. Nothing really in walking distance but there is so much to do on site and a short drive away it was great. Reception staff were great and helpful. The shop had lots of food at prices the same as the nearest super market near enough, nice fresh baguettes etc in the mornings. Overall our favourite and would def return again for our next French trip when we go a bit further down.
