Why stay here ...

Located on the convergence of the Adriatic and the River Cetina, this attractive campsite benefits from a superb rocky backdrop which reflects the magnificent sunsets in oranges and reds. Its position makes it the ideal place to take advantage of a range of water sports including jet skiing, surfing and kayaking, with a large beach for guests.

The level touring pitches benefit from some shade provided by mature trees, with several pitches offering views of the offshore island of Brac. The site has a good restaurant and pizzeria, while there’s more bars and restaurants in Omis, 800m away.

An afternoon can be pleasantly spent exploring the local shops at Omis, and regular buses to Split depart from the road outside the campsite. Here visitors can explore the fortress-like complex of Diocletian's Palace (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), amidst the white walls of Croatia’s second largest city.

Four Night Break

Galeb
This was our fifth site on our European Tour. The three previous sites were privately owned and had their own "surprises"; but after leaving Venice we arrived at Omis. The site is flat and under a canopy of trees. It stretches out from the road right onto the beach. We (two outfits) had pitches together very close to the amenities - probably too close to the amenities as we discovered many people would walk through our set up to get to the facilities block. We can not fault the hard work of the cleaning staff in the facilities (18 hour days). The site was ideal for us as it was on the main road through to Zadar, Dubrivnik etc

Location superb, facilities tired

Galeb
In terms of location it’s lovely. The town of Omis should not be missed and is an easy walk away - 10/15 mins. It’s a small town and the old part beautiful. There’s also a bus directly opposite the site which goes to Split - another must see. Dotted along the route are lots of small beach resorts - perfect for a day out. What’s not great are the pitches that they pack you onto! It’s fairly noisy and facilities are tired and nowhere near as clean as we’ve had elsewhere in Croatia. In summary, a good two night stay but anymore than that, I’d say try elsewhere - although there’s not a lot of choice tbh.

Very average

We stayed here early May 2019. Check in was efficient and the staff we're good. Our pitch was in a poor state. Weeds were knee high and there was an open trench running right across it. We complained and it was dealt with immediately. The site has its own beach and is ideally placed for access to Split via public bus and Omis. Sanitary block was clean and in good repair. The bar area was lovely We didn't use the restaurant because it is very close to Omis town. Which is small but full of character. A few good beach bars and restaurants. The problem is the site is surrounded with mobile bungalows which at the time of our visit were full with sports teams in their early teens. Well behaved but certainly not peaceful. Given the amount of sports facilities on and surrounding the site I think this must be a regular thing. Despite the presence of security on site some women were able to access the site and approach your outfit trying to sell you clothing etc. However for families with older children this site is probably ideal. Just a note the swimming pool is much smaller than its photograph makes it appear. It very nice but it is positioned right between the bar and restaurant. So if you are using it you are on full view of everyone eating lunch. Ok as a stop over. Not the standard I would expect from a recommended site.

Lovely location right on the beach

Galeb
This site was not very busy (May) and we were allocated a great pitch, virtually on the beach. I would say what grass there was was pretty rough, but there was water in a covered trap on the pitch, the toilet facilities were spotless (I saw lots of evidence of the cleaner) and the pool & bar were right on the beach too. The pretty old town of Omis was within walking//cycling distance - the campsite being on the outskirts of the modern town, and the bus to Split was just out on the main road, although somewhat unreliable timewise, and not so regular. The bus went the other way to the charming resort of Makarska. I would recommend this site - we had no problems at all except for the copious amounts of fluff blowing off the trees and into the van!!

Good for a short stop

Galeb
we stayed here as a base to explore the local area. The pitches are large and clearly marked out but there is no space between them. we have a small van so this wasn't a problem, we had plenty of space outside. IF you have a very large van and end up next to another large vehicle you might feel a little crowded. It was the start of low season so it was busy but not full, mostly older/retired people and a few families with young children. The shower/washing/toilet facilities were pretty standard but very clean and had everything you need. The site felt well looked after and clean, we saw plenty of cleaners and ground staff around. it has its own private beach with activities if you like that sort of thing (boats, jet ski, windsurf). There is a restaurant which is the higher side of average for price and food is average but good if you don't want to cook. It is a very short walk to Omis town where there are shops and restaurants. We took a bus to Split and a bus to Makarska. Buses are hourly but run all day and late night from Split. It was worth taking a bus as it would be hard to park a large van in the town and parking is expensive. The bus stop is right by the campsite too. Overall it is good for a few nights but I wouldn't like to go in peak season as it would be super crowded. Good base for exploring Split/Makarska/Brac/Hvar and booking through the club site we had a very good price. The downside was we had to pay both tourist tax and a registration fee in cash at the site. Tourist tax is usual but registration fee was unexpected!
