Day 1 – Arrive at Camping L’Hippocampe (C09)
Meet your fellow members over a welcome drink and dinner at the campsite restaurant, Le Gueco.
Day 2 – Morning visit of Sisteron
Known as the ‘Gateway to Provence’, take a tour of this beautiful pre-Roman town built on the banks of the Durance River.
Day 3 – Visit Moustiers Sainte Marie and lavender distillery
Visit the beautiful village of Moustiers Sainte Marie today on this half-day excursion. Situated on the edge of the Gorges du Verdon and built into the side of a limestone cliff, this village is well known for its pottery or ‘faïence’. Then, visit a lavender distillery, going via the Plateau de Valensole on the way - an area famous for its lavender fields that stretch as far as the eye can see!
Day 4 - Free time at your leisure
Why not relax at the campsite today with the river Durance flowing past and the inviting swimming pool?
Day 5 – A trip to Forcalquier market
This morning you have the opportunity to wander around this extensive and popular market, and treat yourself to some local specialities.
Day 6 – Fortune Arizzi olive oil mill
Today is a visit family-run olive oil mill where 8000 olive trees grow over an area of 70 acres. Learn all about the history and culture of the olive trees and the process of the oil production, from growing the olives to the bottling of the end product. At the end of your visit, why not treat yourself to a bottle or two of this fine Provençal product.
Day 7 – Occitane en Provence and the village of Les Mées
Visit the ‘Occitane’ factory in Manosque this morning. Learn all about how their products are made with natural ingredients inspired by Provence with a guided tour. Afterwards, head back to the campsite via the village of Manosque, where you will have the opportunity to see the fascinating ‘Penitents’ rock formations and find out about the legend behind them.
Day 8 – Final day at L’Hippocampe
Enjoy a final day at L’Hippocampe at your leisure and finish your first week with a farewell dinner at the campsite restaurant.
