The Caravan Club's overseas travel team announce new sites and tours

14/10/2014

The Club’s overseas site network now features an incredible 220 sites, which all meet the high standards required by The Club in order for them to be on the network for members and The Club has booked over 240,000 nights in Europe for its members, in 2014 so far.

2015 sees nine new sites added; seven in France and one each in Holland and Belgium; L’Hippocampe in Provence Alpes Cote d’Azure; La Roche Posay in Poitou Charente, Les Alicourts in Centre, Le Pas Opton in Pays de la Loire (Vendée), Le Chaponnet in Pays de la Loire (Vendée) , Le Vieux Port in Aquitaine, Col d’Ibardin in Aquitaine, Resort de Arendshorst in Netherlands, Parc La Clusure in Belgium.

The Club now also offers the following guarantee “Our ferry prices cannot be beaten anywhere else in the market!”

Emma Carr, Overseas Sites Product Manager, says, “As a member’s organisation The Caravan Club always aims to offer its members the best products and services. The Overseas Travel Service not only offers advice and is able to make all arrangements for members, it can now also guarantee the cheapest ferry prices! Access to these great offers is what being a member of a club is all about.”

Carr continues, “The Overseas Travel Service is made up of a team of experts, many of whom have first-hand experience of the sites and areas that they are booking for members and many of them can also speak the local languages, which gives members added confidence in The Club.

The Caravan Club’s Overseas Travel Service has also launched a new ‘European Tours and Excursions 2015’ brochure. Previously a sub-section in the main travel brochures, the 19 strong portfolio of different tours across Europe will be available at the NEC show for the first time.

A brand new selection of city breaks to Paris, Amsterdam and Bruges & Brussels have been added – book all three and receive a 10% discount off the tour price, while Christmas markets, wine tasting and historical tours also feature among the many new offerings.

Perhaps most exciting of all, new ‘First-Time-Abroad’ tours have been added. These are designed for caravanners and motorhomers who have only ever toured in the UK and may have some concerns about Continental Touring. They have been especially devised to guide newbies from start to finish on their first ever touring holiday abroad! All ‘First-Time-Abroad’ tours include an overseas driving course and presentation on the legal aspects, covering everything you need to know about touring in Europe.

Of the new ‘First-Time-Abroad’ tours, Tours and Excursions Product Manager, Sophie O’Neill, says, “They have been designed to build the confidence of attendees, many of whom may be experienced tourers but have never toured in Europe before. Experienced hosts travel with the group to act as mentors and offer support, helping to ensure a pleasant and worry-free holiday. The Club is excited to be able to support its members into taking the leap into touring in Europe and opening up a whole new world.”
