Win the ultimate trip of a lifetime to New Zealand
15/10/2024
Imagine discovering the many wonders that New Zealand has to offer as you journey around the country in a motorhome taking in the breathtaking scenery. For tourers looking to explore New Zealand, the Caravan and Motorhome Club is offering up the chance to win the ultimate trip of a lifetime worth £11,000*. From geothermal wonders and volcanoes of the North island, to the glistening glaciers and mountain views of the South island, there is much to explore on this wanderlust tour.
Winners will be able to choose when they take off for the 23-day ‘Wonders of New Zealand’ independent motorhome tour, between September 2025 and December 2025. Begin your journey in the city of Auckland before collecting your vehicle and heading southwards through the North and South Island, taking in new sights and experiences before reaching your final stop in Christchurch. The tour is part of the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s worldwide touring holidays, where explorers are able to choose from 29 once-in-a-lifetime caravan and motorhome touring holidays or tailor-make their own tour.
The New Zealand competition launches online from Tuesday 15 October at 10am 2024 and closes at 23.59hrs on Sunday 23 February 2025. Tourers will also be able to enter the amazing competition at the Motorhome & Caravan Show at Birmingham’s NEC from 15 October. Entrants will be able to meet with the Club’s friendly dedicated travel experts at Stand 9.95 (Hall 9) to hear all about the inspirational bucket list tours available.
The competition prize is for two people and includes return flights, private airport and motorhome depot transfers, ferry crossings from Wellington to Picton, and two nights each at hotels in Auckland and Christchurch, plus 15 nights at a selection of pre-booked campsites with 16 days hire of a Maui Ultima motorhome.
Tourers will be at home driving through open expanses of road such as the agricultural region of Waikato, and then on to Rotorua, the geothermal region of New Zealand. The lucky winners will be able to learn about Maori culture, visit a thermal wonderland with bubbling mud pools, a fizzing ‘champagne’ pool and the daily eruption of Lady Knox geyser.
The winners will then make their way to Lake Taupo, Huka Falls and Tongariro National Park before hitting the country’s capital of Wellington, with a visit to the Te Papa Museum, or a trip up Mount Victoria for views out over the city.
From day 10 of the tour, winners will head south on the ferry to Cook Strait and the spectacular twisty roads of Queen Charlotte Sound then enjoy the local beaches of Nelson before heading west where they can take in the coastal views as they travel down the coast to the twin glaciers of Fox and Franz Josef. A 50-mile section of road, which passes through Mount Aspiring National Park, offers scenic views across the mountains and rainforest.
Winners will also have the opportunity to visit a historical gold mining town, take an optional trip to Milford Sound from Queenstown, see the fantastic birdlife on the Otago Peninsula or opt for a relaxing train journey on the Taieri Gorge Railway.
The Wonders of New Zealand tour starts at £5,699 per person for a 23-day independent tour. For more information and to enter the competition, visit camc.com/nzcompetition.
