Family fun pays off for parks and playgrounds charity

04/05/2015

10% of profits from the sale of small toys and gifts dedicated to The Caravan Club’s family programme, Tourer Explorer, will be donated to Fields in Trust. The national charity works to improve the protection, provision and quality of outdoor recreational spaces for all communities across the UK.

Protecting over 2,400 sites across the UK, Fields of Trust promotes the value of outdoor spaces and carries out important work to enable people to access adventures in the fresh air.

Nick Lomas, Director General, The Caravan Club, explains:

“Encouraging more people to enjoy the great outdoors is a mission close to our hearts. Fields in Trust is an impressive charity that both protects open spaces and promotes being outside. Enjoying the world around you is what unites all members of The Caravan Club. The support of our members will help to preserve more areas of land and encourage more people to enjoy the outdoors.”

The Caravan Club’s Tourer Explorer programme features 65 Club sites throughout the UK that are family-friendly. All Tourer Explorer sites feature additional activities for children – from treasure trails to art competitions - and offer a free Tourer Explorer activity booklet for children under 12 years old. Under the new charity partnership, sales of Tourer Explorer gifts and goodies such as backpacks, kites and colouring pencils, will include a ten per cent donation of the profits to Fields in Trust.

Kathryn Cook, Communications and Marketing Manager, Fields in Trust, comments:

“Fields in Trust protects parks, playgrounds and sports pitches across the UK and we love to see people of all ages out in the fresh air enjoying themselves. So we’re delighted to be the charity partner recipient for The Caravan Club’s very first promotional family offer with their Tourer Explorer initiative. I’m sure families having fun during their Caravan Club holidays will take some of the ideas and activities home with them to try on their local Fields in Trust site.”

Families looking for an outdoor adventure can join The Caravan Club which will offer you over 200 Club sites and 2,500 privately owned places to stay plus expert advice, overseas travel services, financial services and exclusive offers and discounts.
