Explore the UK’s Seven Natural Wonders with the Caravan and Motorhome Club

Britain’s top seven natural wonders have recently been named by the experts at the Royal Geographical Society – and the Caravan and Motorhome Club has campsites near them all. 

Whether visiting the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Skye or all seven wonders, the Club’s campsites offer comfortable and cost-effective touring and camping pitches. Plus, glamping accommodation is available at two of the campsites. Here are all the options to choose, all of which are less than an hour’s drive from the nearby wonder:


The Needles, Isle of Wight 

Southland Caravan and Motorhome Club Site 

Situated on the outskirts of the small village of Newchurch in the beautiful Arreton Valley, Southland Caravan and Motorhome Club Site offers a great base to enjoy the Needles and all that the Isle of Wight has to offer. 

Sandown and Shanklin are just three miles away and the two towns share the same sheltered bay with its sandy beaches and safe bathing that are perfect for families. Newchurch village with its charming Norman church is five minutes on foot and there you will also find a pleasant country inn serving fresh, hearty food.

Jurassic Coast, Dorset

Bridport Bingham Grange Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Located in West Dorset, Bridport Bingham Grange Caravan and Motorhome Club Site pitches are landscaped to preserve the natural ambience of the estate and touring facilities are housed in an attractive honeystone barn at the centre of the campsite. 

The historic market town of Bridport has a vibrant centre to explore and the nearby Jurassic Coast and countryside are a joy for visitors of all ages to explore.

Haycraft Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Haycraft Caravan and Motorhome Club Site offers easy access to the attractions of Poole Harbour, Bournemouth, Dorchester, Weymouth, Wareham and the National Trust's Brownsea Island

The magnificent Swanage Railway is nearby, allowing the opportunity to ride on heritage steam and diesel trains to Swanage town centre and the beautiful village of Corfe Castle.

Wastwater, Lake District

Coniston Park Coppice Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Coniston Park Coppice Caravan and Motorhome Club Site is set within 63 acres of beautiful National Trust woodland, offering a scenic, peaceful base for an active holiday that will keep the whole family happy.

Being so close to Coniston Water, visitors can enjoy a range of water sports such as dinghy sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. The wonder of Wasterwater Lake is about an hour’s drive away.

Dovedale, Peak District:

Carsington Water Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Located within an attractive pine plantation, Carsington Water Caravan and Motorhome Club Site in Ashbourne is beautifully landscaped, with pitches in open clearings separated by trees. 

Carsington Reservoir with its great selection of leisure facilities including fishing, sailing, windsurfing and a children's playground is just a 15 minute-walk. The campsite is also an excellent base for walkers and cyclists wishing to explore the beautiful scenery of Dovedale and the surrounding countryside.

Blackshaw Moor Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Blackshaw Moor Caravan and Motorhome Club Site is situated on the quieter, southern edge of the Peak District, offering scenic views and beautiful walking routes in the region.

Tittesworth Reservoir and Nature Reserve is just a short walk away and Alton Towers isn’t far, making it a great base for families.

Uttoxeter Racecourse Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Also located near Alton Towers, Uttoxeter Racecourse Caravan and Motorhome Club Site is great for families and also golfers as it’s adjacent to a course which offer special rates or Club members.

The market town of Uttoxeter is nearby and the proximity of the train station puts visitors within easy reach of Stoke-on-Trent and Derby.

The Firs Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

The Firs Caravan and Motorhome Club Site offers excellent facilities and a tranquil setting with views of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.

The historic town of Belper and pretty village of Matlock Bat are close by, as is a welcoming village pub.

Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, north Wales

Lady Margaret’s Park Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

A pretty wooded parkland campsite, Lady Margaret’s Park Caravan and Motorhome Club Site is adjacent to the grounds of Chirk Castle in the heart of Marcher country.

There are many historic houses and castles to visit that are characteristic of Chirk within walking distance from the campsite. Further afield, there are opportunities to explore areas of outstanding natural beauty and, of course, the beautiful Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall.

Loch Coruisk and the Cuillins, Isle of Skye

Morvich Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Morvich Caravan and Motorhome Club Site is located within a National Scenic Area and is ideal for those who enjoy the great outdoors. Located on the lush green, wooded valley floor and surrounded by picturesque hills and mountains, the campsite offers breath-taking views. 

Guided walks are organised by the National Trust for Scotland (next door) which cater for everyone from the walker who enjoys a good challenge to those who prefer to take in the panoramic views at a gentler, leisurely pace. The campsite is perfectly situated for a day trip to Skye, where visitors can enjoy Loch Coruisk and the Cuillins.

Giant's Causeway, Northern Ireland:

Drumaheglis Marina and Caravan Park

Drumaheglis Marina and Caravan Park in Co Antrim is one of the few access points to the Lower River Bann, with superb natural landscapes making it the perfect riverside location. Fishing, sailing and canoeing can all be enjoyed nearby, as can miles of golden sands and the popular Antrim Glens.

The Giant's Causeway and all that the beautiful North Antrim area has to offer is also nearby.
