17/10/2017
The Caravan and Motorhome Club has expanded its worldwide and European tours collection, offering a range of independent and escorted itineraries with pre-booked campsites, tailored excursions and road books with travel tips.
New to its worldwide collection for 2018 are a three-week ‘Canadian and American Rockies’ tour, and a 15-day independent ‘Get Your Kitsch On Route 66’ road trip along America’s most iconic route.
In Europe, the new tours for 2018 include a 29-night hosted ‘Sweden & Norway’ itinerary, a 31-night trip to Corsica & Sardinia and a month-long ‘Spring into Spain’ holiday offer where members can immerse themselves fully into Spanish culture.
Harvey Alexander, director of marketing for the Caravan and Motorhome Club, said: “We’re excited to be adding more worldwide and European tours for our members. Many of our million-plus members enjoy the reassurance of travelling in a group with a tour host, but others equally enjoy the freedom of going-it-alone, albeit with a good itinerary, amazing excursions and travel tips – all of which have been researched and hand-picked by our team of experts.”
Members will be able to experience much of the USA and Canada’s great outdoors on the 22-day ‘Canadian and American Rockies’ tour. The itinerary takes in some of the most magnificent parks in North America including Banff and Jasper National Parks, Rocky Mountain House and Yellowstone National Park. Along the way holidaymakers will be able to relax while taking in the spectacular scenery from mountain glaciers, to hot natural pools, and there will even be the chance to see black bears and grizzly bears in their natural habitat.
Prices for this independent motorhome itinerary start from £3,995 per person and include return flights to Calgary, two nights’ four-star accommodation in Calgary, 19 pre-booked campsites, 24/7 emergency assistance plus a comprehensive road book with day-today highlights, routes and maps. Departure dates from June to September in 2018 and 2019.
The ‘Get Your Kitsch On Route 66’ 15-day itinerary is a true classic that lets members live the American dream. Stretching across three time zones and eight states, Route 66 covers 2,448 miles from Chicago to Los Angeles. It is crammed with nostalgia, kitsch and tradition at every turn and is the perfect holiday for those wanting to discover the real America, whether that be walking down Main Street, chowing down in a diner or living it up in Las Vegas.
Priced at £2,245 per person, the tour departs April to October 2018 and includes return flights, a choice of motorhome, coach tour or car hire, 14 nights in Route 66 motels, historic lodges, hotels or RV sites, plus personalised road book with travel tips, local information and day-to-day driving itinerary.
A little closer to home, the Club has created a fully immersive 30-day ‘Spring into Spain’ holiday offer, allowing members to live and speak like a local with plenty of Spanish culture, language and cookery lessons, and coach excursions. Members will be based at Marjal Costa Blanca, on the southeastern coast of Spain, where they’ll be able to enjoy all on-site facilities including spa, gym, pool, restaurant and bar, and a welcome and departure meal. Ferry crossings and holiday insurance are not included, but can be arranged by the Club. Only 4kwh of electricity per day is included; extra electricity is metered at €0.35 per kwh. The tour is priced at £999 per person and departs on 11 April 2018.
The Club’s new 31-night hosted ‘Corsica & Sardinia’ itinerary starts from £4,499 (outfit + 2 people) and takes in the different characteristics of these two island neighbours – one French and one Italian. Highlights include an excursion to the stunning Cap Corse, a three-night stay in the vibrant coastal town of Calvi and visits to Arbatax and the villages of Mamoiada and Orgosolo.
The tour departs on 25 May 2018 and includes tour hosts to accompany the group, all overnight stays at campsites, ferry crossings from Livorno to Bastia, Bonifacio to Santa Teresa di Gallura, overnight ferry from Olbia to Genoa with double cabin and ensuite, excursions and meals as detailed and all admission fees.
