Our insurance products are only available to members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club. If you're not a member yet, we can still supply you with a quote which you can take up once you join.

Top questions

What is Red Pennant?

Red Pennant is the Club's overseas holiday insurance service and is designed to consider the needs of the caravanner, motorhomer and trailer tent owner in trouble abroad. As well as single or multi-trip travel insurance, cover can also include European breakdown assistance, vehicle and passenger repatriation, continuation of holiday travel.

I want to travel outside the EU, is my cover still valid?

Yes, our Caravan Cover is valid overseas for up to 182 days per year, our Car Insurance is valid in the EU and associated countries for up to 270 days, and our Motorhome/Campervan Insurance valid in the EU and associated countries for 365 days a year.

However, it is important to check your policy wording to make sure that the cover you take out on any of your vehicles is adequate for your purposes.  We would also recommend you also check what documentation you may need when driving abroad, including the International Certificate of Motor Insurance, also known as a 'Green Card'.

You can find full details here.

What happens if I'm involved in an accident abroad?

If you are involved in an accident or breakdown which requires you to leave your caravan/car/motorhome you should:

  • Remove any valuables and items that might attract Customs Duty, including wine and spirits

  • Take your baggage and personal effects with you

  • Make sure anything left in the vehicle will still be covered by your cover provider

  • Make sure your cover provider will continue to provide cover while your vehicle remains on the continent and for the journey back to your home address

Who is included in a single policy?

Everyone in the vehicle must be added, even if their time on the trip is different.
