Naming your caravan

This story happened on: 26/06/2014

I read with much enthusiasm, the June copy of the Caravan Club magazine. Upon reading the letters page, I had to have chuckle when reading that we are not the only one's who give their caravan a name.

My husband, our 12 year old son and I started out with a Swift Challenger 520 SE, Fantastic caravan, this was with us for just over a year, this van was 'Cfor'...... (yes you got it.. C for caravan).

On nagging my hubby for a new dinner set, we set out  one quiet Sunday morning, to go along to our local caravan dealer, I saw a really nice one. Needless to say I went ahead and bought this.

We had a look around the showroom, and that was it, we fell in love with a lovely caravan, a Bailey GT65 Verona, well to cut a long story short, we bought this caravan and his name is 'Bill'. Yes the reason why. The Bristolian comedian Bill Bailey, and this is where our 'Bill' was manufactured!!!.

So therefore, no it isn't just a thing for 'ageing grannies'. We are all mad as hatters and love our caravan holidays in 'Bill'.

We hope you all have a chuckle Mr & Mrs Wurzel on tour
