Prologue - A new Hobby, a Great Adventure.

This story happened on: 12/05/2014

Two week's, just fourteen days. It's not a long period of time but I wager it will take an eternity to pass.

Two weeks today and I will be relaxing in my Lunar Solar 562 with a glass of Prosecco in the tranquil setting of Northumberland.

Now to many of you reading this, spending a week in a 15 year old caravan may not exactly be that exciting, I have seen many of the new models that are available on the market and I have to say I am envious. However, this is my first Caravan and with only one short excursion to my name in this new hobby, the trip to Northumberland represents a great adventure.

I love to travel, always have. My favourite places include Florida, Egypt, Turkey & particularly Rome.

Rome was relevant when myself and my Wife were deciding the location of our first major trip in our Caravan. I have a deep interest in Roman history and everything associated with it, so what better place to start than the home of one of the greatest legacies remaining of the empire, the wall built by Hadrian.

On top of that I have a great appreciation of scenery and from what I have seen during my research of Northumberland, the county has an abundancy of picturesque sites.

So, the countdown has begun, planning is well under way. The final accessories have been purchased. The packing has been delegated to the Missus for no other reason than she is better at it than me, I shall busy myself with planning the route, the stops etc.

I plan to share the trip with you as the trip progresses, hopefully, without a hitch.

Until then.........
