The start of our touring and blogging

This story happened on: 21/11/2017

We are relative newcomers to the world of caravanning, purchasing our first van in the autumn of 2012, but less than eighteen months later we set off on a tour of Britain.

At the start of our travels we developed our Two Dogs and an Awning blog so that we could share our adventures with friends and anyone else interested in the places we visit and things we see along the way.

We are keen walkers and invariably our blogs feature our daily ramble, or jamabout as we now call it, these range from three miles to well over twenty.  We rarely walk a planned route, we head off to see what we can find, but always have the relevant OS Map to hand to ensure that we will eventually get back to our starting point.

Our preference is to stay on CLs and where possible we aim to walk from the site.  The blogs contain directions for the walk, historical points we pick up along the way, our observations and in the majority of cases a link to the online OS Map (for those who use the OS app).

We travel with our two Labrador dogs, Dexter and Crosby, and they feature in our pictures and blogs.  Our website has over 450 blogs from about 60 CLs.

I have been sharing the blogs on Twitter (@2DogsAwning) and Facebook (Two Dogs and an Awning).  After feedback from CL owners and fellow caravanners I decided to produce a summary of some of the blogs to share on the Club Together network and hopefully encourage a few more people to use the CAMC’s wonderful CL network and whilst there get out and explore.

So over the coming weeks and months you can expect to see stories from our travels.  For those who are keen to know which sites we have visited you can see all our blogs here.

Thanks, I read through some of your blogs and you've certainly covered quite a range of places. We've been to a few of those sites too but tend to use buses and trains to get around, our legs and the dogs legs have lost a bit of their get up and go. wink
