#XploreMore 2014 - Task 89 - Write a diary extract from your dog's perspective

Dear dog diary

Well, what a tiring day! I'm a very old dog and my family make me go swimming walking and running. You see we went to the beach today to complete some challenges and sticks were being thrown for me! Yay I love sticks but not all of them because you don't like a million sticks do you, they make you tired! What do they think, I am a dog?! My best friend Bess was bombing all over the place but she's only 8, I'm 13!

My Alpha Tim  was looking in these pools of water on rock so I thought I might pop my nose in and have a sniff! I really wish I hadn't because salty water went right up my nose! I was coughing the rest of the day!

That day we had a man named Andrew with us; everyone called him Andude 'cause he always surfs. And surprise surprise he went surfing the whole time. Then Alpha Tim and playmate Amy went away for some reason, and cuddler Kerry and playmate Ella started building a tank (I thought it was meant to be a caravan). I thought I would help and as a result I started to trample on it. That was a big improvement. I was confused because they then started to build it again. This time it was much better!

Then it was time to leave (aww) but as soon as I was in the van fast asleep, I had to get out again. This time there wasn't only me and Bess. There was Andude's dog there, called Grizz.

We spent a long time there and after a while I noticed that my family was playing football with him,and I didn't like that,so I started to bark at him. " Sally stop it! " said Kerry firmly. I was too tired to get the ball so that's why I just barked then I fell asleep in bed.

Grizz was great at heading balls. But I thought that he was annoying and trying to get all the attention. And it looked like my family was letting him. I really don't get people sometimes!

Finally it was time to go to the caravan again... Oh, I hated to think of it!

So that was today and hopefully not tomorrow!

The sad irony is that poor Sally was put to sleep the day of writing, after a long and happy life sharing adventures with us. RIP Sally Sad
