#XploreMore 2014 - task 61 - Cross a river

This story happened on: 28/07/2014

Today the girls took on Task 61 - Cross a river during our stay in Newcasteton - a lovely little village in the Scottish Borders.

After speaking to a local landlord at the Grapes Hotel, Amy and Ella headed down to the River Liddel with three bottle crates to use as stepping stones.

The flow was quite strong, despite the water being quite shallow in places, so I stood downstream ready to catch any bottle crates washed away from beneath them.

Thankfully, I wasn't needed, and the girls made it across dry!

This was a great challenge!

PS. they could have just taken the footbridge, but that wouldn't have been as much fun.

lovely site, lovely village, lovely pub (the Grapes),lovely river! Hope you enjoy your time at Lidalia, though the footbridge is a new addition since we were there in February! Girls - Watch out for the heron that visits the rear of the site, just over the fence.
