Challenge 59 - Write a song about caravanning – it must contain the word explore

This challenge was completed whilst staying in the Brecon Beacons in Wales so we felt this should influence our song.

We found a traditional Welsh song, sung by Cerys Matthews, called Migildi Magildi and spent some time learning the words for the first two verses. This was not an easy feat since no one in the family knows any Welsh.

The challenge was to write our own song about caravanning so we used the tune of Migildi Magildi and added our own words, of course including the word ‘explore’. Like many musicians we based the content on our experience!

The video shows Girls-a-Loom singing their first single, “Mig-Elddi(s), Mag-Elddi(s)” (get it ;-) ?) inspired and including words from the original but with a caravanning twist. Please note the home-made instruments (challenge 97).

Many thanks to our caravan neighbours, Linda Woodward, her son David and their dog Rolo, for the loan of their Welsh bunting; it certainly added to the performance.

NB Apologies for any incorrect Welsh – we tried our best!
