#XploreMore 2014 - Task 37 - Play pooh sticks

This story happened on: 02/08/2014

Pooh Sticks

We enjoy the odd game of pooh sticks whenever we’re near a river. It’s simple and fun so this was quick, easy and amusing challenge to complete!

We’ve been walking past a stream near Kielder reservoir the last couple of days but today, after all the rain, the previous calm trickle was more of a fast-flowing channel of water. Amy and Ella selected their sticks and then stood on a bridge to launch them. It wasn’t an immediate success because they kept getting trapped but after a couple of attempts they raced along the banks to see whose bobbed down at the greatest speed and reached the next bridge. Ella’s won!

Would it be impolite to ask how many more 'tasks' we can look forward to?

Hi chasncath

The Meek family have to undertake 75 tasks during their current challenge they have their own web page where you can see all of the exciting things they are currently undertaking together as a family. http://www.dotrythisathome.com/category/the-xplore-challenge-2014/ shows the 75 tasks.

I did come across an article about them that appeared previously in the D Mail too. As this is a commercial enterprise maybe the CC should provide a separate area if it's a promotional exercise? It's becoming more disjointed on here.

It's amazing that their website, complete with blogs, articles, newsletters, radio interviews, subscriptions et al, is being maintained and updated from their caravan. Presumably they're using club site wifi :-)

I understand what is happening now with these stories. They are not really stories as per the normal meaning of what stories are written on here and I am a little surprised a Moderator has not come alog and said that and removed them like they have done before.

Well done however to the Meek family and their tasks.

Regards, Roy

Could not edit the above, Club software or add smilies!!!!

Similar posts have been removed but I dont suppose the Club have the ability to create a seperate section for such things as this and therfore under the current software restrictions this would be the only place they could post such comments.

Regards, Roy

These #tasks are not really stories though, are they?

Maybe the club should dedicate a page to the Meek's adventure / tasks on s eparate web page.  I like reading about other people's adventures, but presently it's becoming a little difficult with these tasks clogging up the news feed.
