#XploreMore 2014 - task 14 - Design your own caravanning comic

This story happened on: 19/07/2014

Make a comic strip
Whilst flitting through the booklet of 100 activities to do in the caravan, a certain one caught my eye - make a family caravanning comic strip! This sounded like a great activity as I love drawing (despite the fact that I’m not particularly good at it). Sitting outside on my Vango Tyre chair with the sunlight streaming down on me through the trees, I began.

Although the art isn’t very good, I tried to portray a strong message to the reader of my comic booklet  - caravanning isn’t about what others think of you or how modern your caravan is, it’s about enjoying the time you spend in the caravan, no matter how big, flashy, small or old it is.

The story is loosely based on ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ but, of course caravan  version. A family hate caravanning because they are always bored and the caravan is a wreck. Then, when it is time for their next caravan holiday, their Dad (Terry) reveals the new Ellie (the caravan) to his family, Kim (Mum), Lucy and Tom. The family have lots of adventures in the caravan before their Dad accidentally crashes the flying caravan into a cliff.

This activity was simple but great fun and filled the spare time before bed!
