#XploreMore 2014 - Task 100 - Plant some wild poppy seeds at the side of the road

This story happened on: 22/08/2014

Challenge 100 - Plant some wild poppy seeds at the side of the road -
to commemorate one hundred years since the start of WW1.

Poppies are a vivid reminder of the many wars there have been and
importantly this year have symbolized and commemorated the hundred
years since the start of world war 1.

We really wanted to do this challenge when we were in France and
visiting Dunkirk; it would have had real sentimental value. We weren’t
able to since we didn’t have any wild poppy seeds.

But, when staying in Salisbury CC we noticed an area where wild
flowers were growing, including poppies.

After drying out the seeds from a poppy head, we sprinkled them at the
side of the road outside the site - on the edge of some MOD land.
