#XploreMore 2014 - site 4 - Chatsworth Park

Chatsworth House site

It’s the half term holidays and we’ve got more time to spend at a site so after collecting ‘Ellie’ (our Elddis caravan) from Clumber we set off for the Chatsworth site, a popular site, that unsurprisingly was fully booked.

Our pitch was a ‘super pitch’, secluded from others with hedgerow and its own water supply and waste disposal, a convenient luxury, although all the main facilities were very close. Others around seemed accustomed to the more luxurious conditions and had all sorts of impressive gadgets for tapping into the water supply and quicker disposal of grey water – something we’re still to learn about and acquire.

The saying ‘perfect weather for ducks’ really did apply; numerous ducks waddled around the site happily splashing in the puddles, eating any breadcrumbs that were thrown there. The girls weren’t put off the weather and quickly settled in; they went off exploring on their bikes, making friends with fellow caravanning families. We didn’t see much of them during the day because they were either whizzing (at 5mph!) around the site, completing various challenges or messing around in the play area, only occasionally returning to report back the name of a new friend or find.

Another relaxing caravanning holiday in the bag!

Enjoy Chatsworth guys, take a drive through the park to Rowsley, take in the shops at the peak village and try a meal at the grouse & claret....all very nice.

Hi Mallane,

Thanks for the ideas.  We're home now but will definitely follow your advice when we are next there.

Thanks again.
