#XploreMore 2014 - site 3 - Clumber Park

This story happened on: 19/05/2014

Our third site was Clumber Park in the East Midlands, a relaxing, peaceful location by the magical woods of Robin Hood. It is a large site that boasts 178 pitches generously spaced in the 20 acres.

There is a welcoming atmosphere and the facilities on the site are well-maintained; they include two toilet blocks with associated amenities, a shop that serves fish and chips (unfortunately we weren’t there on the right day) and a great playground for the kids.

Being located in the Sherwood Forest area means that woodland surrounds the site and there are plenty of opportunities to walk and cycle in the surroundings.

We loved staying at this site and enjoyed our evening one pot in the middle of the forest!

we have not long bought our caravan an old swift 2006 and it was our first visit to a club site clumber park, as we have only been with the caravan club as members just a few months we were really was impressed with clumber park what we did when got there was chose our pitch and set up electric on but no plugs cannot boil the kettle for well earned cupper then one of the wardens came round and told us we had set up the wrong side of the white post we asked if he knew anything about electrics, he asked if we had plugged into the site electrics we said yes! his reply was have you turned it? not knowing what he meant with a blank expression on our faces he went to the hook up and twisted the socket and hay presto everything worked, we had a lovely time there and the chip van was well worth the wait
