#XploreMore 2014 - Site 18 - Alderstead Heath

We’re back on English soil. After arriving in Dover at midday, we
drove up to London. The aim of staying near to London was to redeem
some tickets to Chessington World of Adventures that Amy and Ella won
a while ago.

Alderstead Heath is a large popular site south of the London, not far
from the M25. There are obvious benefits for getting into London but
also heading off into the surrounding countryside south of the
capital. The locality attracts many tourists, including a great number
of foreign visitors so it felt a little like we were back abroad. In
fact, most of the time the pitches seem deserted because everyone is
off sight seeing or exploring.

Even though it is a large site the pitches are spaced out and lines of
trees block areas from view. There is a relaxing woodland atmosphere.
It has the usual high standard Caravan Club facilities and friendly
wardens. For children, there are two play areas: a playground and an
outdoor trim trail.

Whilst at this site we managed to complete a few more challenges:
domino run (successful after a few failed attempts - with the help of
family), bark rubbings and drawing and labeling the inside of the
caravan.
