Which is the best mover?

This story happened on: 03/11/2014

Whilst at the NEC Motorhome and Caravan show, we set the girls a challenge: to find out about the different caravan movers on the market and which would be best for our caravan. We knew nothing about movers except the obvious so the girls would therefore become the experts; we told them we would go with their choice so the responsibility was on their shoulders.
Amy (11) and Ella (9) had to firstly research the different movers that were available on the market; they spent over an hour wandering around the different stalls talking to salesmen, watching demonstrations and reading information. They then returned to us with the two that they felt were head and shoulders above the rest - ALKO and POWERTOUCH.
Here is what they had to say about them:
"One of the reasons that we chose these two companies was that they were the lightest and most reliable on the market. We liked the joystick control on the ALKO but we liked the 5 year guarantee that POWERTOUCH had to offer, as opposed to two with ALKO."
We then asked them to interview a representative from each of the two companies. With the help of Nikki Nichol, Head of Publicity for the Caravan Club who introduced the girls to the relevant people, the two of then proceeded to carry out a filmed interview asking detailed questions in order to make further comparisons.
Following their interview, the girls concluded:
"POWERTOUCH were the best mover because they were the lightest and best value for money. The POWERTOUCH salesman explained how the mover can take the caravan over all terrains, including stone, mud and snow. We liked the fact there was an option to manually or electronically attach the mover. They claim to have the best after-service and will send out a mechanic to attach or mend the mover wherever you are. Elddis recommended POWERTOUCH to us for use on their caravans."
So, the girls rose to the challenge of the task wonderfully. They are both now extremely knowledgeable about movers and we are now awaiting our fitting of a Powertouch mover on our Elddis Explore 574!
