Family in:site into Poolsbrook CC Site

This story happened on: 10/04/2015

We returned to Poolsbrook Caravan Club site for a short visit, mainly because of its proximity to Sheffield. Unlike during the winter months, the site was full and buzzing with atmosphere. It is a modern site with superb facilities and in an ideal location. Whilst the location is ideal for visiting the Peak District, you don't need to go far to find things to do.

Things to do on the site:
The neighbouring lake, nature reserve and playgrounds mean there are plenty of activities at close hand.

Playground & outdoor gym
As you walk out of the site, you find the Poolsbrook Country Park with a large playground and outdoor gym. There is a good selection of playground and gym equipment. Children and adults alike can easily spend time playing and exercising on both of these sites. We enjoyed doing some of our naturally fit here.

Nature reserve
The nature reserve in Poolsbrook Country Park is home to a wide variety of birdlife. The 180 acre park provides woodland, grassland and lake habitats. Take some binoculars out with you and a book and see how many you can spot.

Lake
Time to get creative: design your own boat or raft and test out how good it is on the lake. Have a competition to see how well it travels, or how much weight it can carry.

Physical activities
The Poolsbrook CC site is a new site with smooth roads winding through the pitches. They are perfect for activities such as cycling, scootering and roller blading. If you have bikes with you, also head in the Country Park and explore the 4.2 miles of trails.

Please do not encourage people to cycle, scooter or roller blade around site!  This is very in-considerate to others on site and also dangerous.  Children should never be allowed to play on site around other peoples cars & vans.

Does seem very odd to be suggesting such anti-social behaviour when there appear to be so many activities immediately available.

I've got to agree with the above posts, it's very odd to try to encourage anyone to cycle, scooter or roller blade around the site when the caravan club are doing their best to stamp these anti-social activities out. Whatever next!

Cycling, scootering and roller blading are not antisocial activities; they are forms of exercise which well brought up kids can do safely and respectfully.

BTW - in my opinion sites are better places when there are kids on them - you hear more laughter and people having fun, and less moaning and groaning.
