Amy(12)'s thoughts on Vilanova Park site in Spain

Wow - the first word Ella and I vocalized upon arriving at Villanova Park. Never before had we seen so many activities in one location, never mind on a campsite! I’m sure you can imagine our utter joy of exploring as soon as the motorhome was safely pitched.

While mum and dad caught up with the washing at the on-site launderette (and enjoyed a sneaky sangria and cerveza at the bar!), we jumped on our bikes and explored all the huge site had to offer. Due to the fact we visited the site off-season, a few of the facilities were closed, like the two outdoor swimming pools, but despite this the site was still bursting with life. Ella in particular loved the playground and football pitches, not to mention the Jumping Pillow, a giant inflatable bag that is a bit like a trampoline when bounced on. The forest surrounding it, although small, was great to explore on bike and foot and the crazy golf course looked pretty fancy, as well! The site also has a supermarket, which meant mum could stock up whilst we enjoyed the indoor pool, thankfully open regardless of the time of year. We had a few issues with the opening times of the supermarket – it’s shut from 12pm to 5pm, which wasn’t ideal. Relievedly, this doesn’t affect the purchase of bus tickets to the local town – these are sold from the gift shop, which also offers a range of clothing and souvenirs.

We were intrigued by the large range of evening activities the site provided and headed to the site restaurant for an evening of entertainment. There’s all sorts going on, from bingo to discos to quizzes to live music. The other alternative is to enjoy the bar and restaurant or even the games room and table tennis located outdoors, next to the bar.

We really enjoyed the short stay we had at Villanova Park. There’s so much to do, you don’t really need to leave the site itself and if we do return to this region of Spain, we’ll know where to pitch up.
