Australia tour

This story happened on: 14/02/2016

We have just returned from a month in Australia. I downloaded a tour itinery from the Caravan Club website and used it as the basis for our motorhome tour from Cairns in the tropical north down to Sydney in the south. We hired a Mercedes van conversion from a firm called Maui. What a drive. 2600 miles in 18 days. We stayed at sites that belong to the Big 4 franchise and they were perfect. From tropical sites with frogs squealing at night in the north to Possums and Roos roaming around the van further south. It really was a way to see the real Australia and i would highly recommend it. It was our first time in a motorhome as here we have our trusty Bailey Ranger (we missed our fixed bed a little) which we would not swap but for 1 or 2 nights at the most on this trip the motorhome was ideal and thank the heavens for aircon fitted as standard and driving on the left. Thanks Caravan Club for the itinery. Australia is awesome. You want to see their caravans too especially the off roaders. They are big solid heavy looking beasts clad in metal unlike our prettier white boxes!!
