Tow-Trust now have a REG55 Type Approved Tow Bar to fit Elddis Motorhomes on the Boxer Chassis

This story happened on: 07/03/2013

Lots of people start their motorhome adventures in one of the popular Elddis Autoquest/Aspire models sitting on a Peugeut Boxer chassis. Like all new motorhomes (since October last year) if you want to tow, you need a type approved tow bar to stay legal and avoid future problems when LOT time comes around. Until now, you were limited to a choice of one - by the same manufacturer who engineered the chassis extensions for Elddis. The problem of having a choice of only one is that pricing tends to be a on the steep side.

Good news! The folks at Tow-Trust have just come up with a sturdy REG55 Type Approved tow bar engineered specially for the Elddis Autoquest/Aspire models.

This tow bar has additional cross-bracing over the competition (leading to even greater ridgitity), and it looks great as well.

I was proud to offer my Marquis Majestic badged Elddis Autoquest 120 to the good folks at Tow-Trust to be their first installation of this tow bar and am delighted with  the results. With clean lines (due to the laser cut process) and great E-coat black finish (carrying a 1000 hour salt spray certification), it should look good fro years to come.

If you're in the market for a tow bar - give them a call and compare...

Hope it is not still under waranty (which may become void) , has this towbar had type approval to the required standards & the insurance company are aware ? Still it is good to know that there is now an alternative.

Not and ad. (I just appreciate not getting ripped off by the overpriced alternative and feel good service should be shared), and yes it has been Type Approved (REG55, which I'm told exceeds the standard 94/20 EC test - something to do with additional testing of the secondary coupling point/breakaway cable point)...

I'm just a happy camper after such a positive experience...

Write your comments here...Believe me this is no sales ploy.

I took delivery of one of theses tow bars today and believe me the build quality is fantastic.

It cost £315 from Tow with Trust which is half the price of the equivelent spec Witter.

It also has a better corrosion resistant coating.

Unfortunatly my 2009 Autoquest with ALKO chassis extensions didnt have mounting holes drilled to fit it.Duh Elddis!!!

I phoned Tom Miller at TT and he sent me out a free mounting kit and template to drill the 8 holes in the chassis, next day post.

Simply great.
