trailer tents on caravan club sites

This story happened on: 16/09/2012

on a recent  trip to clumber park site we noticed a family arrive with a trailer tent which they erected on a grass pitch, under the front tent part they placed some plastic sheeting, not a good idea! the wardens came round during the evening but did not say anything to them. we have just returned from buxton site and again there were 2 trailer tents on site.  surely they cannot be classed as a caravan or a motorhome?

I think you will find that the Caravan Club welcomes trailer tents on all of its sites and tents are welcome on some of them.

Yes Paul56 you are right, I do hope Roddo45 is not being snobbish against trailer tents. The club is not just for caravans and motor-homes. We prefer our caravan to a motor-home but I would never say motor-homes should be on another part of, or another site. As for the plastic sheet, well this is an essential part of tenting as is the plush carpet in some people's motor-home or caravans. I have just returned from holiday in Germany where we had next to us two tents the size of our fridge with young couple's in them, but nobody looked down their nose's at them.Or is this just a British thing, certainly not with my wife or me.   John.
