Great Wedding

This story happened on: 03/08/2014

Well, we had an absolute fabulous time at my Cousins wedding, apart from the marriage itself I must tell you about one of the highlights of the evening.

We had all finished our meal, served to us by a number of waiters/waitress’s and had just settled down for the best mans speech. After just 2 or 3 sentences his (wireless) microphone started to play up so a quick thinking waiter said he would get another, he walked over to where the DJ was and got another….. but as he walked back and much to everyone’s surprise he spoke into the mic, he said, “ I hope you don’t mind me taking this opportunity but I’ve worked here (at the hotel) for 10 years and this was my last night and I would like to thank you all for being so nice”…..
Naturally he got a round of applause, but he then said “I’d like to sing a song” ….. at this point we’re all looking at each other with disbelieve ……and the best man looked mortified (this was supposed to be his speech slot)……. He (the waiter) then launched into Nessun Dorma with one of the best and most powerful Tenor voices I’ve ever heard….. halfway through a waitress joined in with a beautiful soprano voice much to the pleasure of the audience who were now wildly applauding.
We were then treated to an hours worth of duets, mainly opera and show songs but a couple of pop songs from this highly talented couple with amazing voices which ended in a standing ovation.

Of course the ‘introduction’ was part of their act, even the best man wasn’t in on it….. it was a great night and the best man did get to do his speech in the end….
