WHY DO SITES AT SHOWS SUCH AS THE NEC HAVE COMPULSORY ELECTRICITY AND EVENING ENTERTAINEMENT INCLUDED WHEN I WANT NEITHER

The site at the NEC is very expensive, so offering EHU and entertainment is a way of enticing those that can afford it. I believe the majority of the cost of this fixture is site fee. The alternative is to stay on a CL locally, much cheaper but you do have to factor in getting to the NEC for the show.
