Battle Normanhurst

This story happened on: 22/06/2014

Just back from the Battle Normanhurst CC site, what a lovely place. There is a variety of pitches to choose from, hard standing or grass, open or hidden, shaded or sunny.I came from the M25,down the A21 to Battle, turned right at the roundabout onto the A 271 and the site is about 3 miles down on the left.Be warned, the signs are right on the gateway and no warnings before so it could be easy to miss (I did !!! ) and it is a long way to turn around.Don't make the mistake of taking the next left after the site, that's what I did and 'pon my word is it tight,'er indoors had kittens !!!! The driveway is wide but with a couple of large potholes, and what is the need for the speed bumps?? Anyway,on arrival there is plenty of room to park up and check in,and it is best to walk around the site to find a pitch as it is laid out in little cul-de-sacs and loops. My first impression was how immaculate the site looked, grass cut nice and low, gravel where it should be,not all over the show, and nice big shady trees. The showers were one of the cleanest I have seen, and the whole site is a credit to Gordon and Colin and their team. All in all,a very enjoyable and quiet stay.

We are going there later in the summer. It will be a returning visit after about 5 years. I hope its as good as I remember it.
