Chatsworth Caravan Club Site

Its not true! Chatsworth isn't always booked up - just usually!

We arrived Friday and found a good, spacious pitch, No 103, but keep it quiet! Through the gate for a walk in the parkland before the excellent fish and chip van only on Friday night.

Saturday was glorious, hot and sunny and a short (4 mile approx) walk through the woods to the Hunting Tower, across to Swiss Cottage and down to Beeley Bridge and lunch in the garden centre. Chatsworth is now glowing with most of the scaffolding removed. Quick trip into Bakewell for dinner.

Sunday turned cold and we explored what Buxton had to offer and a trip up to Solomons Temple after lunch. Quick cuppa in Eyam (plague village) before returning to the warmth of the van as it started to rain...and rain...and rain!

Monday - and was hoping for another walk in the park - perhaps coffee and cake in the Stables but no - still pouring it down! Fine weather for ducks as they say and anyone who knows the Chatsworth site - it is full of ducks! Time to move.

It is still a good site and no real need to get the car out if you dont want. Keep trying to get booked in!

We love Chatsworth site too and have managed to get on a couple of times. We have been fortunate with a good pitch each time but some of the pitches are quite small and appear to be squeezed into corners. However the good points far outweigh the faults and the walks are fabulous!!
