Old Van Chronicles - Dartmoor, Buckfast Abbey, and Steam!

This story happened on: 30/05/2012

While staying at Lydford Caravan and Camping Park (CC affiliated) I have been taking advantage of their FREE WI-FI to post a few stories, as well as keeping up to date with Club Together!

Today was no exception where we took a trip across Dartmoor, stopping off at the amazing Combestone Tor. The road here runs right by the fantastic rock formations at the top of the Tor, and well worth stopping to look at, and also to admire the stunning views!

On finally leaving here, we followed the sat-nav down to Buckfast Abbey, where they are busy restoring and repairing some water damage done due to blocked drains off the roof.

After this a visit to the nearby South Devon Railway was called for (and why not?!) and a ride down to Totnes Littlehempston station where the steam railway meets the modern Virgin and Great Western services. Which of them run more consistently to time, I wonder?

Anyway, after this it was just trip 'home' via a large supermarket with a fuel station, at least partly because I had a 5p off per litre voucher and a nearly empty tank needing filling!!
