New Zealand Explorer Motorhome Tour - Days 4-6

This story happened on: 18/10/2016

On to New Zealand and we had a couple of nights to recover in a central Auckland Hotel. Here we were introduced to the Anzcro representative Trudy and our tour leaders, Noel and Kathleen who gave us the low-down on what to expect on the tour.

Travel and formalities over and it was time for the group to relax over a fine three course meal in the incredible revolving restaurant at the top of Auckland’s Sky City tower, where the city was transformed by the night lights.

The following day we were free to explore the city. Some of our group took the ferry to Rangitoto Island, others rested and Marcus and I hit the multi-cultural food vendors in Food Alley, just a five minute walk from our hotel where we worked on re-setting our body clocks with some good value, tasty food.

The rain did not dampen our enthusiasm for the spectacular cherry blossom display in the cherry grove near to Auckland’s War Memorial Museum.

Our Motorhome provider is a vibrant company called Jucy and in the evening we attended their wine and nibbles introduction to the vehicles we would be using for the next month.
