Our first tour of Spain in our Eriba Troll 530

This story happened on: 10/03/2014

In October and November 2013 we took a trip round Spain for 6 weeks.

We caught the boat from Plymouth to Santander and then traveled south to Puerto Santa Maria, Malaga, Cordoba and back to Bilbao.

I created a log of our trip on tripline.net. It includes a map, sites and places visited and many photos. This can be found at

Hi Martin,

I took a look tripline.net but the site was "unable to display this map".

I have been researching what caravan to buy (my first one) for over a year and now the time has arrived...I'm off to Dusseldorf with my wife this very weekend for the world's largest caravan show. Anyway, to cut to the chase...I've been thinking about an Eriba Troll 540 and have even been to Automotive Leisure (on my own) to sit in one. We shall see them at Dusseldorf at the weekend but my wife thinks they might be too small for a couple and so I would appreciate your opinions as there is a world of difference between a 6 week trip to Spain in a Troll and a 6 minute sit in one at a caravan show!

Was the Troll roomy enough for the 2 of you on this long trip?

Is it warm enough when the temperature drops and the pop-top is up?

Does the van suffer from wind noise (on windy days) with the top up and can you easily hear the neighbours through the canvas?

Any time you have to reply to these annoying questions of mine would be very greatly appreciated indeed!

Many thanks & kind regards,

Stephen Morey
