Scotland 2017.

This story happened on: 01/05/2017

Back from our annual trip to Scotland, one of the most scenically beautiful places in the world with the most friendly people. We chose the Western side this year and chose North Ledaig site as our base. What a great site this is,every pitch has a stunning loch view looking towards Lismore and the Isle of Mull. The site is very well kept, the fascilities very clean and well maintained. The wardens are friendly, helpful and respectful .Our tours out from here were just amazing ,Mull being a very special place to visit, colourful plants and wildlife in abundance. We also did a sunset trip to Coll and Tiree which was delightful. So many more beautiful places to discover, can't wait to do it all again next year .

Mr Bus

Your short story would have been much enhanced if you had included some photographs of this lovely part of Scotland?

Hi Hedgehog best time to go to Scotland to avoid the dreaded midge is before 1st June and after the end of August. This is how we have visited Scotland and never had a problem with midges. The summer months can be a nightmare especially on the western side. We love the west of Scotland, views to die for, the remoteness and the peace and quiet not forgetting the wildlife. The drive through Applecross south to north is the most spectacular drive (not towing).

For a most stunning, massive deserted sandy beach try Dunnet Bay caravan club site, it is virtually on the beach, long way to go but we thought it was well worth the drive. Scotland is a must, we live in Worcestershire and have been may times, going again next year for 3 weeks, we can't get enough of everything that Scotland has to offer. PS we have been extremely lucky with the weather. cool   Enjoy
