My Disabled Guide....Fairlight Wood, HASTINGS CC

This story happened on: 08/02/2014

Me, 65 y/o partially disabled Motorhome man with two dogs…...moving on.

Fairlight Wood CC, Hastings

Fairlight Wood will alway be a good memory for me as it was the place where I was introduced to E-bikes by a nice young lady who allowed me to try her’s and doing so gave me a future from being stuck in a CC sites with no forms of travel excluding my m/h, taxis or a bus that is.

Fairlight is one of my favourite sites as in it’s only a short walk through the woods which is signposted in the way of white markers on the trees, to the Two Sawyers pub where they do great food and drinks and allow dogs except in the restaurant of course.

The site itself is well managed by a lovely couple who own  two dogs and fall over themselves to be of help in anyway, it is a smallish site lovely loos and all the usual stuff, water fill up points, drain points and a dog wash point…….I know couldn’t believe it myself, as far as shopping goes there is a butchers shop in the village of ………...wait for it…..PETT.

Walkers will love Fairlight Wood walking down to the beach at Fairlight Cove, disabled people will not so as it is very steep all round.

Hasting is also 5 miles away, down hill, you will need transport to get to and fro, I don’t know if buses allow wheelchairs on them, it’s been a while since I went on a bus.

Points out of ten……..7
