Southport

This story happened on: 23/05/2014

We went to Southport for a week, as usual we got a pitch as far away from the toilet block and watering point as is possible, but that didn't spoil our holiday. Every day we were up at 06.00 had a cuppa and breakfast then got the dogs in the car after 07.00 of coutse and went down to Ainsdale beach, you can actually drive on this beach and take the dogs a walk, which we enjoyed doing, stayed on the beach until about 10.00 or later every day! then back to site and had t and toast. If you want to take the dogs a walk Ainsdale beach is approx 3.5 miles from the site towards Liverpool, get there before 09.00 and you can drive on free after that it is £4.50 for the day. Other places to go well worth a visit is Rufford old hall, very nice gardens and the OH says the inside of the house is nice as well. Try going to Speke hall again well worth a visit although it is approx 30 miles away. I didn't know but the site at a Southport is on the bed of the old Liverpool to southport railway track. Inside the park at  the side of the site is a model car racing track and also a model railway society, both operate on Sundays, the model railway running live stam engines. Southport is well worth a visit the new part of the site should be open very shortly and looks a bit of ok hope there are going to be trees and bushes looks very bland at the moment. We enjoyed our holiday very much and would go back to Southport again.
