spare wheel and carrier

This story happened on: 04/08/2012

I would like to stress the point on spare tyres and the carrier underneeth the caravan ,first off remove the carrier make shure it slides up and down freely ,now check the spare it must not be tight in the carrier as this will damage the tyre if it is hard to undo the retaining nuts then the tyre may have sidewall dammage ,check for indents in the trye wall if there is replace your tyre as it may cause a blowout if it has to be yoused . After a recent accident myself i urge you all to check your own spares as mine was a new tyre with wraper on it DONT leave it up to your dealer servises always check yourself . thanks for reading .mike

The Jury is out as far as these carriers are concerned. I've read so many comments 'can't get out with puncture'Nut too tight to undo' 'seized rods'. I was going to move tyre into front locker on previous van but hernias & back problems prevented that. I just Hope Green Flag chappie can get new one out if necessary !!!! Undecided
