Skerry Good but Basic Site

This story happened on: 18/10/2017

In October we enjoyed a tour of the North of Scotland, starting at the very top and working down in our motorhome. We fell upon the site at Skerray which was empty being the end of the season. With no one there and in agreement with the CL site owner, we parked on the entrance as the standing was much harder. We were late arriving and early leaving, but agreed to move immediately if anyone else arrived, which they didn't. Our unit was full of water & diesel so around 5-tonnes and I didn't fancy getting stuck in the field after the rain we'd had.

This location has fresh water from a tap over the road and toilet disposal on site, although no running water. There is no electric hook-up and the house to call at is accessed through a pedestrian gate in the field, up a hill and through two further gates. You walk through the garden to the house after passing through a gate with the Caravan and Motorhome sign on it.

An amazing location which we found to be very quiet. Like most of this area, access is via narrow roads with passing places, so brush up on your reversing skills before going. You will be well rewarded by the view for doing so and we will definitely return for longer next time!

Have you also posted this in the CL review section? Posting reviews helps CL owners to publicise their premises where as posting here in the Story section might only get a limited audiance.

Nice to see a couple of photos to go with your story, something we can't do on reviews.
