Fledging surprise.

This story happened on: 10/08/2015

We had our usual yearlly family get together us in our caravan and my out-laws in their motorhome.

We had never been to Merrose Farm in Cornwall and found it to be a lovely friendly site with helpful wardens. It was well laid out as it was the July/ August holidays and very busy. Although it didn't really feel busy. Just lovely and relaxed.

What we did encounter which was very special was a nesting swift family. Everyone had to run the gauntlet of mamma swift who had decided to put her nest in the top of the window toilet block. The warden informed us they were about to fledge.

We kept an eye open for the next couple of days and yep, they fledged. It made our trip to see the birds so close in their nest and the fun of dive bombing mum.

(I do have a photo but it did not give me the option to load it)

Nice to hear the fledglings survived. The Roseland is a lovely area to have a holiday, thanks for sharing your story.
