HITCHCOCK AT SANDRINGHAM

This story happened on: 25/04/2013

We spent 2 nights at the Sandringham Site recently.

It is some time since we used a UK site and had were surprised to see the customisation of pitches.

i.e. the people on the next pitch set up a bird feeder on a stand.  it had 4 trays on it including one of water.

Within seconds of setting it up - there were 10 pigeons enjoying the food and flying around.  I do not mind birds but 10 was a bit frightening.

They put the stand up on the grassed area between pitches, so the pigeons were on our pitch and not theirs.

They also personalised their pitch with solar rocks and a flag pole.

Are there any regulations about feeding birds.

We felt unable to sit out to enjoy the warmer weather, even though the birds flew away when we opened our door.

Our car was covered in you know what too!

It has put us off returning to club sites.

Hi .............

It frightens me to think that you are concerned about a few loveley birds which we all expect in a woodland surrounding.

In the past we have been on a site in Sussex where a family had all of the solar lights bird feeders potted plants wind breaks & a small garden bench on their pitch . A very tacky look in my opinion but that's just my view .
